Valley Harvest Church is a non-denominational community church. After a few people met in homes, our church began in January of 1997, meeting at the Swanson School in Palmer. Our next move was to the church across from Swanson on Gulkana. We have been in our present location since September, 2003.
Our “flavor” is such that you might call us a “melting pot” church, with people from all different backgrounds attending. Our common glue is the Bible, God’s Word. From that, we enjoy the flexibility and richness that comes from different perspectives of His Word. Our doctrines held are few, but they are the “non-negotiables.” Our praise music is up beat and our worship is intended to bring us into an intimate experience of His Presence. We do not rush through prayer, understanding that the primary purpose for prayer is relationship, both with Him and with our brothers and sisters.
We understand that we are here to bring others to Christ and that is the church’s greatest joy. Our motto, “Sowing the hope of Christ’s love, acceptance and forgiveness into people’s lives,” is lived out on a continual basis. I would have to say that because of the openness to other church backgrounds and non churched backgrounds, you will find our church to be an accepting church, non-judgmental, realizing we are all here to know Him better. It is only by His grace that we have this privilege.
