Men's Ministries
At Valley Harvest Church we believe that our ministry to men is important. We understand the unique challenges of serving our Lord in these times and our responsibility to stand together in meeting these challenges. We encourage prayer partners and building relationships where men can be open and transparent in their needs. We have begun R.A.K. (Random Acts of Kindness) Teams to help meet the needs that men can attend to in our fellowship…especially for the elderly, widows and singles.
We have a men’s breakfast on the 1st Saturday of every month at 8:30am at the church. We also schedule a men’s Bible Study on the 3rd Tuesday of every month. Our goal is to bring men to spiritual maturity in Christ and to help each other deal with the challenges we all face.
Women's Ministries
Valley Harvest Women’s Ministry (VHWM) studies and conferences are offered to
encourage and equip women for service by living a holy lifestyle and walking in the
Holy Spirit in everyday life. VHWM is focused on developing nurturing relationships
with one another through mentoring, teaching, and community outreach. We look
forward to gathering for times of fun, fellowship, learning, growing and giving of
ourselves to help others in need.
Meetings are held monthly, with special events
scheduled frequently. Remember, God has specifically
designed women for His service. We are here to help
you fulfill your full potential in Christ Jesus. Come meet
with us and see what God can do in and through you.

Children's Ministries
Alaska springs to life as the long nights turn to even longer days, and as the frozen white landscape fades to brown and ultimately explodes to reveal the brilliant colors of summer. God's creation always amazes me, but never more so than during it's change of seasons. As spring gives way to the new growth of summer, our Children's Ministry here at VHC also gives way to new growth of its own.
As Christians in a very busy, independent and "me" oriented world, it's never been more important for us to remember that Christ called us to a life of servanthood! It's our vision here in the VHC Children's Ministry to teach our children, through scripture, learning curriculum and hands-on experience, exactly what it means to to be a Servant of God! We either have already begun, or soon will begin, our new curriculum. In addition, we will be working directly with local agencies to encourage our children to reach out, as important and valued members of our community, to offer help to those in need.
So many of us here in Alaska are far removed from our blood relatives. Many children don't have the opportunity to learn about life through the eyes of someone who has "seen it all." Likewise, there are many elderly folks who live in retirement homes, who long for the life and spontaneity of a child. We believe that the relationship our children and our elderly can provide one another is vitally important -- and such a precious gift! That being said, we are thrilled to announce that our children are starting up their very own ministry with the Pioneer Retirement Home here in Palmer. We're calling it (of course) the "Adopt-a-Grandparent Program." Through the course of their participation in this program, our children will be able to use their God-given gifts to serve our elderly in a very loving and productive way. This is not to say that "Adopt-a-Grandparent" is a one-way program, for indeed, it is not! Our elderly have equally as much to offer our children. Their knowledge and life experience is priceless and through the development of these relationships, our children will be truly blessed.
There are many opportunities for those who are called to serve in this very exciting, high energy and fun ministry. If you'd like more information, if you'd like to join us in our ministry, or if you have any other questions, comments, or suggestions, feel free to contact either Sherry Waddell or myself. We always look forward to your ideas!
In His Service,
Michelle Dehner
